A deep and rich vocabulary is strongly correlated with proficiency in reading and success in school and life. Word Play Vocabulary/Morphology Workshop provides a clear and effective methodology for teaching vocabulary (including grammar, morphology, etymology and more) in the classroom. Participants will learn about the importance of morphology in vocabulary instruction and will discover ways to incorporate vocabulary activities across the curriculum. We will explore how to teach morphology as a way to unlock the meaning of thousands of words and as an alternative to rote memorization. Teachers will receive lessons and materials to implement instruction in the classroom. The Kendore Vocabulary workshop is lively and engaging and supports multisensory teaching methods. Appropriate for grades 2-8.

This course earns 12 professional credit hours. Certificate provided after completion of course.

*Note about Kendore Learning Online Training: All Kendore workshops have been shifted to an online format. Participants are expected to attend class at the designated time. However, we recognize the need for flexibility and will provide recordings to students on a limited basis (up to twice per workshop). In order to receive a certificate of completion, all students are expected to attend, either live or by recording, each session and complete assigned homework, which is expected to be less than one hour per class.
