Morphology In the Lower Grades
One-Day Virtual Workshop
Thursday, July 20th
8:30AM - 3:30PM EDT (Eastern)
You don't have to wait until middle or high school to start teaching students about morphology! By raising students' awareness to the morphemes all around them, you can help them unlock the meanings of thousands of words and make connections across content areas.
During this virtual workshop, Jennifer Hasser, M.Ed., will take participants through the best practices for teaching morphology to the lower grades. Jennifer will walk attendees through digital resources and activities that will help them thoughtfully layer morphological information onto existing instruction. Attendees will gain an understanding of how to present morphology, both orally and in written work, alongside our Kendore Kingdom curriculum or independently.
Participants will receive:
- downloads for one-on-one and group instruction
- a sequence for layering oral language, oral vocabulary, oral morphology, and written morphology into instruction
- digital resources
- Jennifer's presentation slides
- a certificate of attedance to submit for CEUs to IDA, IMSLEC, ALTA and more!
If you attended our webinar and Kendore Learning Instructional Community (KLiC) series in April, please note that you will receive additional materials that were not shared during the April 13th KLiC!
Attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance and digital materials via email after the event. Course earns 7 instructional hours. Recordings can be offered on a case-by-case basis, but we strongly encourage that you attend live.
