High-frequency words (HFW) are considered to be the most frequently occurring words in text. They account for approximately 60% of the words in print. Students need to be able to recognize these words instantly in order to be fluent readers!
Learn how to teach high-frequency words (HFW) efficiently and strategically to maximize retention. By teaching our students about the different types of HFW, and by discussing word origins to anchor spelling with meaning, we can provide them with the tools they need to be fluent readers.
You will learn how to teach high-frequency words by:
- phonetic pattern
- frequency
- etymology
- linguistic category
- phoneme/grapheme mapping
You will receive over $100 in materials and downloads for instruction!
Cost: $195.00 per person; includes games and materials (shipping not included). Payment or purchase order is required to confirm registration. Early registration is highly recommended.
